Cocaine vs BC Bud

In the States we hear much about BC Bud and high-grade marijuana being smuggled south from Canada.  Little is mentioned that the smuggling goes both directions.  I've already mentioned guns, but Americans are also importing cocaine, crack and meth into Canada.

Canadians send herb and seeds from the earth into the US.  Americans send some of the most hideous substances known to mankind into Canada.

Hypocrisy is a word I hate to associate with our common national attitude. Our US government is demonizing Marc Emery, a peaceful man who's only "crime" as defined by our government was selling the seeds of an ancient, proven medicinal plant.   By equating Emery's actions with that of crack, meth and heroin traffickers, they are perpetuating a hoax on us, the American people, one that was started 80 years ago as part of the propaganda campaign to get cannabis prohibited in the first place.

The hysteria, the claims of crime and passion and madness associated with cannabis use has long been replaced with truth and reality and factual, scientific, judicial research.  But, has it?  The DEA still uses the same rhetoric in the War on Drugs.  Which is really a War on Marijuana.  Which is really a War on People who refuse to accept the DEA's version of reality as defined by the Bush/Cheney regime.

** DC note - I'm just curious - how do Canadians feel about your southern neighbor?  The Bush administration screwed you on soft-wood tariffs for years, not to mention US actions in Guantanamo alone has threatened the security and safety of our entire hemisphere. Now, your Canadian tax $ are being diverted into weapons of destruction as your new government joins the world's arms race.  For one thing, our nationalistic spirit would be outraged if the Canadian government did the same thing in our country.

We'd be mightily pissed if the police from another government came into our country and demanded we allow them to take a legitimate American businessman and political activist to a foreign country to stand trial on charges that carry a life sentence. Hell, the US under Bush/Cheney wouldn't even sign on to the World Court for fear an American, God forbid, might be tried on foreign soil.

On behalf of all of who still have a conscience - sorry.
