Welcome the State of New Mexico to the medical marijuana compassionate use community!  It took balls for Democratic Governor Richardson to sign mmj into law making NM the 12th state to recognize and respect the wishes of it's people.  It is a sign of progress that someone of his rank and caliber will "do the right thing" instead of doing the Right Republican thing. 

 Welcome also former Congressman Bob Barr to the Marijuana Policy Project.  He has seen the error of his ways, he has changed party affiliation and now proudly calls himself a Libertarian. He has seen first hand the growth of Big Brother and the intrusions of the federal government in our private lives.  The War on Drugs has become an extremely convenient tool for a small group of people to use against those they deem unacceptable. 

This all gives me so much hope .... that there are people of conscience out there who are also in positions of power.  We need leadership and statesmanship in the politicians we elect. 

Bob Barr and Bill Richardson have shown themselves to be good men.
