Female Soldier in Jail for Trying to Keep Safe from Sexual Harrassment in the Military

"And he (police) walked in the house, and I put my hand up. I said, “I didn't invite you into my home.” And he took my hand and twisted it and pushed me out of the way and put the handcuffs on Suzanne (her daughter). Well, she turned around and put -- you know, he put the handcuffs on her. She knows the drill. She was a military police officer.

So I looked at her, and I said, “Here we go.” And she says, “Yep.” And I say, “Are you ready?” She says, “Yep.” And I said, “Okay, let's do it,” because I knew that if they took her before she was going to turn herself in, that I was going to make some noise. And they took her and took her to Lane County jail and processed her. They fingerprinted her and mugshot and put her in jail. And she sat there for two days."

This is about a 22-year old woman who joined the military and suffered severe sexual harrassment while in service from her superiors. The article is a transcript of an interview with her mother. http://www.democracynow.org/article.pl?sid=06/07/11/144224  Thank GOD my battle doesn't include my children.  Thank you Lord.
