GW Lectures Putin
Arrogance and hypocrisy go hand-in-hand as Bush chides Putin about democracy and freedom in Russia. Waxing uneloquently, GW declared again his "desire to promote institutional change in parts of the world like Iraq, where's there's a free press and freedom of religion ... and a lot of people in our country would hope that Russia do the same thing."
Is he is out of his mind? Putin retorted with, "We certainly wouldn't want to have the same kind of democracy as they have in Iraq, I will tell you quite honestly." It appears everyone in the world understands what a mess Iraq is except GW.
We don't even have to look abroad to see what Bush really thinks about freedom and democracy. The Bush/Cheney regime has done more to violate the Constitutional rights of Americans than any other administration in history. Bush has neutered Congress and essentially nullified it's legislative power through the use of "signing statements." We need only look at how Bush has used the War on Drugs to suppress free speech, free assembly and free press in our own country.
Putin should have asked Bush, "If America is the land of the free, why do you put more people in prison than any other nation on earth?"
